Season's greetings to all in the Bad Girls community! "The Riot" continues to be an active, vibrant messageboard dedicated to bringing Nikki and Helen fanfic to those who just can't get enough of our favorite love story.
We've now grown to over 525 members with more than 135 stories to keep you entertained. There are new stories by Lyn27, Crispaay, Kate, Tukka22 and samsam as well as several others in the works. Our talented writers work long and hard to provide the stories that ignite our imaginations and keep us coming back for more. Please drop by and show your appreciation for their dedication and creativity. Our board simply wouldn't be the dynamic community it has grown to be without them.
BGR wishes everyone a lovely holiday season!

New Nikki and Helen Fanfics in Progress at Bad Girls Riot!
Thanks to the creativity of our writers, our fanfiction library continues to grow and is now over 120 Bad Girls stories. We are blessed to have wonderful new additions to the board by Estraven, Lyn27, Crispaay, mollysgone, Ratz, Tukka22 and DKG!
On that note, writers of older stories are welcome (and encouraged) to post their stories with us to increase the size of our archives. Our mission is to create and maintain an extensive Bad Girls fanfiction library that is accessible to all members at all times. Your kind contributions to help the board achieve our goals are greatly appreciated by the members!
Community members, if you know of an older story you'd like to see on the board, and know how to contact the writer, please do so, or drop us a line at badgirlsriot@live.com and we'll attempt to obtain permission to post it.
Please come check us out at: http://s1.zetaboards.com/BadGirlsRiot/index. You won’t be disappointed!

Bad Girls Riot Celebrates One Year of Fanfics and Fun!
April 23rd marks the one-year anniversary of the re-opening of Bad Girls Riot. While we opened with an aura of uncertainty, we can safely say that we’ve moved on and look forward to a creative and productive second year. Our fanfiction library now stands at over 115 fics, and our membership is currently over 350 strong. Thanks to everyone for their support in making our first year a successful one.
We’re not planning any sweeping changes to mark our anniversary; we plan to continue on our mission to bring you original Bad Girls fanfic in a friendly environment. As always, your ideas and suggestions on how to improve the board are greatly appreciated.
To our many friends on the board as well as in the fanfiction community at large, we thank you for your continued encouragement and support.
Come join in the fun!

Why We Allow Lurking at BGR
BGR reached a milestone last week with our 100th Bad Girls fanfic posted on the board. We appreciate the writers who have generously chosen to share their stories with our members. Besides unrestricted access to the creative contributions of our writers, one of the things that most members appreciate about Bad Girls Riot is the ability for our members to choose their own level of participation and interaction on the board, including whether or not to leave feedback in our fanfiction threads.
As we have stated on the board, it has always been our contention that people come to fanfic message boards for a variety of reasons, and we should acknowledge as many of them as possible. Members who want to observe silently do so for their own reasons. Perhaps reading fiction is an opportunity for quiet introspection, a peek into a lifestyle that has seeped into a reader’s consciousness, but not to the extent that they wish to comment on it in an open forum. Some people are shy or reserved; some are intimidated by commenting in a second language. We should respect every individual’s right to decide for themselves whether to remain silent or participate. BGR has a diverse group of members and welcomes the presence of all members, regardless of their post counts.
That being said, writers do appreciate feedback from readers. It is gratifying and rewarding for a writer to receive acknowledgement that a reader has enjoyed their efforts; however, mandatory feedback given as a ‘price for admission’ to read a fic will never take the place of sincere, thoughtful comments left by a reader who has been affected by a particular story. We are grateful to our members who take the time to leave written encouragement to our writers, but such comments will always be optional at BGR.
*** Help Haiti Fic Update *** Thank you for your continued support of the Help Haiti project. So far, $850.00 has been given to various charities for the benefit of Haitian relief efforts and has resulted in several new stories and several more in progress. You can find these fics at BGR and also at:

Your generosity is a win-win for both Haiti and the BG community. Kudos to all who have participated in this worthy project!

BG Writers Raise Money for Haiti Disaster Relief
On January 12, 2010, a 7.0 earthquake devastated Haiti, causing catastrophic damage in a nation already among the poorest in the world. In order to bring attention to Haiti's plight and encourage donations to disaster relief organizations, several Bad Girls fanfic writers have offered to write custom ficlets in exchange for donations to charity. Details can be found by clicking here or the link at the top right of the blog.

We wholeheartedly support the initiative of the writers to use their talents to entertain readers while helping others in need. BGR thanks the Bad Girls Community in advance for supporting these writers in such a worthy project.

November Announcements at BGR
The holiday season is upon us and we are pleased that our Bad Girls Fanfiction Holiday Challenge has already resulted in two story submissions with the promise of several more. Many thanks to Lyn27 and Kate for getting the ball rolling and putting the board in a holiday spirit!
On another note, if you have been searching for Janfic’s Bad Girls fanfic site, the old link will no longer work and Yahoo! Geocities Web Hosting has permanently closed. Bad Girls Riot is delighted to announce that Janfic has graciously archived her entire collection of fourteen stories with us. It’s a great honor to be able to continue to display these fics on behalf of the BG community. Many thanks to Janfic for sharing these stories with us.
Our board continues to be humbled by the kind support and contributions of our members. Whether you write fiction, play games, encourage writers with your feedback or just read, your presence at Bad Girls Riot is both welcomed and valued.
If you're not a member of Bad Girls Riot, please visit us at:
